Sundown House Kitchen & Utility Project

The Sundown House project was a truly exciting and creative collaboration with Oli and Kardisha, who were in the final stages of completing their self-built home near Framlingham, Suffolk. What made this project even more unique was the home’s origin — a remarkable conversion of an old bus shelter into a stunning, contemporary open-plan living space.

Having lived in a number of modern properties, Oli and Kardisha had a very clear and precise vision for their kitchen. They wanted a space that reflected their minimalist style while maintaining warmth and character — and that’s exactly what we set out to deliver.

Our approach

Working closely with the clients from the initial design phase, we crafted a modern, handleless kitchen and utility room that blends form and function seamlessly. The entire project was constructed using high-quality rustic oak veneered panels, finished with a natural oil to enhance the grain and warmth of the wood.

To maintain a sleek and clean aesthetic, we designed all drawer and base unit fronts in a true handleless style. For the tall storage units, we added a subtle bespoke touch — handcrafted solid oak handles designed specifically for this project.

We supplied and installed all cabinetry, ensuring every detail aligned with the clients' vision. The kitchen was completed with stunning 20mm quartz worktops for a durable, elegant finish, and equipped with two Quooker boiling water taps — a must-have modern convenience.

The Result

The finished kitchen and utility space are a perfect match for the contemporary yet characterful aesthetic of Sundown House. With clean lines, rich textures, and carefully considered details, the space is both practical and beautiful — a true reflection of the clients’ style and vision.
