Set within a beautiful period property in Colchester, the London Road Kitchen project was all about creating a space that blended classic design with personal charm. With both children having left home, our clients decided it was the perfect time to update their kitchen and create something tailored to their lifestyle.
The brief was clear: to design and build a bespoke handmade kitchen that respected the traditional character of the home while introducing thoughtful, modern touches.
Our approach
We designed the kitchen in a timeless shaker style — elegant and understated, perfectly suited to the property’s period features. To enhance the warmth and individuality of the space, we introduced glazed wall cabinets with internal lighting, allowing our clients to display cherished items and add a personal touch to the room.
Floating oak shelves were installed to bring soft natural timber tones into the design, creating contrast and adding a warm, organic feel. These subtle features helped to balance the classic cabinetry with a more relaxed, lived-in atmosphere.
Every element was handmade and fitted with care, ensuring a seamless integration into the existing architecture.
