Welcome to Chapel Lane Furniture
Our studio and workshop are based at The Old Brickworks on Chapel Lane in Little Cornard, Suffolk, in the heart of the Stour Valley.
Surrounded by the rolling Suffolk countryside, our workshop is situated south of Sudbury and Great Cornard and north of Bures. It is here that we design, manufacture and hand-finish our bespoke kitchens, cabinetry and fitted furniture, bringing together traditional cabinet-making skills with modern precision and technology.
Our workshop is at the heart of what we do. It is where ideas become carefully considered designs, and where those designs are transformed into individually made pieces of furniture for your home.
We take pride in traditional craftsmanship and the skills of cabinet making, while using modern machinery and technology where it allows us to achieve greater accuracy and consistency. This combination gives us the freedom to create highly individual furniture while maintaining the precision required for contemporary interiors.

Our Bespoke Furniture Process
Every project begins with a conversation.
We take the time to understand what you want to achieve, how you intend to use the space and the style you would like to create. Our approach is deliberately collaborative, allowing the design to develop around your home, your requirements and your individual taste.
1. Initial Consultation
The first stage is to meet and talk through your project.
You may already have plans, drawings or ideas, or you may simply know that you need a better solution for your space. We can discuss your requirements, look at any existing plans and begin to explore the possibilities.
Where appropriate, we can meet you at your property to understand the space first-hand. Alternatively, you are welcome to visit our Suffolk studio and showroom to see examples of our work.
2. Initial Design
Once we understand your requirements, we begin developing the design.
Our initial drawings allow us to explore the overall layout, style and functionality of the proposed furniture, alongside an indication of cost.
This stage gives you the opportunity to review the concept and discuss any changes before the design progresses further.
3. Detailed Design and Site Measurements
Once the initial proposal and costings have been reviewed and agreed, we develop the design in greater detail.
We take accurate measurements on site and use these to produce a detailed set of drawings tailored specifically to your space. We work with you throughout this stage to refine the design, materials, finishes and practical details.
The aim is to ensure that every aspect of the furniture has been carefully considered before we begin manufacturing.
4. Manufacture in Our Suffolk Workshop
Once the final design, measurements and details have been approved, your furniture moves into production.
All of our cabinetry is made at our workshop at The Old Brickworks on Chapel Lane. This allows us to maintain close control over the manufacturing process and gives our experienced team the time and space to focus on the detail of each individual project.
We build our cabinetry from start to finish in the workshop before preparing it for its final finish and installation.
5. Hand Finishing and Preparation
The finishing process is an important part of creating bespoke furniture.
Once the cabinetry has been constructed, we carefully prepare the individual components for their final finish. Where required, pieces can be hand-painted or finished to complement the design and wider interior.
Attention to detail at this stage helps ensure that the completed furniture has the quality and character expected from a bespoke piece.
6. Professional Installation
Once your furniture has been completed and prepared, it is ready for delivery and installation.
We use our own experienced professionals to install our cabinetry, allowing us to maintain continuity from the workshop through to the finished project.
Our approach means that the people involved in making your furniture understand how it has been constructed and how the finished installation should come together.
