contemporary Oak HANDMADE kitchen

Membury House Project

Julia and Clive approached us to bring their vision to life in their beautifully updated period home in Clare, Suffolk. As part of their modern extension, they wanted a sleek, contemporary Oak kitchen that would harmonize with the heritage of Membury House.

Our brief was to create a bespoke kitchen design using a modern oak aesthetic, anchored by visible cone joinery details on all drawers. Julia’s precise layout was designed to maximize the openness of their new space, blending seamlessly with the expansive glass and light in the extension.

Our approach

We worked closely with Julia and Clive to translate her vision into a custom kitchen. At the heart of the design is a handleless layout, emphasizing clean lines and visual simplicity. Each drawer features a refined cone joint detail, adding craftsmanship and texture to the minimalist form. We selected natural oak in a soft finish, paired with stunning natural marble worktops. The marble gave the kitchen a luxurious focal point, adding depth and elegance to the oak finish, and creating a truly stunning end result.

The Result

The completed kitchen at Membury House is a breathtaking fusion of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design. The natural marble worktops, alongside the visible joinery, bring a sense of refined luxury, while the handleless aesthetic ensures a tranquil, clutter-free space. It’s a perfect balance of form and function—an elegant, enduring centerpiece in their modernized home.
